Quantum information is an exciting field, bringing together the curious, counter-intuitive properties of quantum mechanics with deep ideas from computer science such as how to quantify information, and what it means to compute efficiently.
In general, I enjoy collaborating on interesting conceptual problems where concrete mathematical statements can be made. Some of my recent work includes projects relating to quantum resource theories, measurement incompatibility, quantum algorithms, and quantum entanglement.
The field is now extremely broad, and I am keen to continue expanding my understanding and ability to contribute to new topics. In particular, I am interested in learning more about complexity theory, information theory, and error correction.
I grew up in Rotherham, in the north of England. I did a Maths undergrad in Durham, UK, with a year abroad in Switzerland taking courses taught in French. I then worked in a Computer Science department for 9 months before interning at a quantum startup in Singapore. Following this, I began my PhD studies in Bristol, during which I spent several months visiting the University of Geneva, as well as interning at Phasecraft. Outside of work I love to play sports and create music :)
